Jay is a leading and well-known legal expert in the fast-growing international crypto and fintech sector, regularly advising clients on all regulatory, disputes and transactional aspects of crypto assets, tokenisations (including security tokens), DeFi, Web3 and other fintech and financial industry areas.
Jay has been advising on all digital asset regulatory, dispute and investigation areas as well as licensing, security tokens, tokenisation and other Web3 and fintech areas. He is widely recognized as a leading legal expert in tokenomics related to digital assets.
Jay’s key clients include leading licensed digital asset exchanges or other virtual asset service providers in Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, U.S. and elsewhere.
Recently, Jay was officially ranked as Number 1 in Technology and Number 3 in All Topics for the “Autumn 2024 Thought Leadership Awards by Mondaq – Hong Kong” and Number 1 in “Fintech” and Number 1 in “Intellectual Property” for the “Spring 2024 Thought Leadership Awards by Mondaq – Hong Kong.” He regularly writes authoritative thought leadership publications on crypto assets, Web3 and fintech areas. Jay regularly holds “Virtual Asset Master Classes” in Hong Kong for his clients, which have had very high attendances.
He is a well-known speaker on the digital assets and Web3 industries, speaking as a panel speaker and engaging in other speaker functions at big conferences such as Bitcoin Asia, Wiki Finance, Korea Blockchain Week and Hong Kong Web3 Festival, among others. He has also been teaching a class on these areas at The Chinese University of Hong Kong for Master of Information Technology programme.
Jay has also practised in other corporate and finance areas such as debt capital markets, pre-IPO funding and investment transactions and structured notes and financings for corporates as well as funds and financial institutions.
Jay is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong and as an attorney in law in New York, U.S.A.
