On 23 September 2021, the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (the “HKEx”) published guidance materials on Listing Rule amendments adopted in the Consultation Conclusions on Paperless Listing & Subscription Regime, Online Display of Documents and Reduction of the Types of Documents on Display (the “Consultation Conclusions”) published in December 2020.
Online Display of Documents
As stated in the Consultation Conclusions, from 4 October 2021, the requirement for certain documents (e.g. documents in support of a listing document or circular) to be put on physical display will be replaced with a requirement for those documents to be published online on the Exchange’s website through e-Submission System (the “ESS”) and on the issuer’s own website (the “Online Display of Documents”).
To implement the Online Display of Documents, new headline categories will be introduced on the ESS. Issuers will be able to remove the online documents from the ESS manually after the period set for their display in the Listing Rules has elapsed.
Issuers are recommended to refer to the updated ESS User Manual and the relevant training materials available on the HKEX website for guidance.
